Welcome back! We wanted to kick off this new term by sharing some exciting news with you...We have given our UK adventures an official name...meet ‘Flooglebinder Camps’!

There is a particular destination and project in our portfolio that is very special to us here at Flooglebinder. It was here, deep in the African bushveld that the Flooglebinder concept was born; where the dream to run conservation field trips for Animal Management students first became a reality and where we met our incredible project partner, who we still run trips with, year in, year out.

Big news folks! Our Curriculum Exploration Officer, Rob Wilson, has been working hard behind the scenes here at Flooglebinder on a project that we are incredibly proud of and super excited to announce! We are the first student travel company to offer the AQA Unit Award Scheme (UAS)!

The impact of travel on mental health in youth is vast and widespread. From building confidence and improving communication skills to learning new cultures and sampling new cuisines, travel at a young age provides a multitude of tools that will continue to benefit young people into adulthood and through life.

Greenwashing is a form of misleading marketing. It is a practice seen across many sectors including cosmetics, food, energy, tourism and fashion. Companies greenwash to make themselves seem more environmentally friendly for marketing purposes. They do this by providing misleading data regarding their environmental impact.

Hunter-gatherers travelled with the seasons, and people used natural services for all their needs. The change began with the age of agriculture 10,000 years ago when we began domesticating and ‘civilising’ nature. It is only within the most recent decades that the disconnection from nature took hold.

Aside from having an epic time exploring the beautiful St. David’s coastline in a boat, on land or jumping off rocks, the Wales programme has environmental conservation and sustainability at its heart.

It was incredible to feel that sense of adventure and do something scary but rewarding. I was reminded of my own strength and ability to grow from challenges, and ultimately, the experience brought me back to my passion for sustainable development.
