Welcome back! We wanted to kick off this new term by sharing some exciting news with you.………..we have given our UK adventures an official name, meet ‘Flooglebinder Camps’!
This is for schools & colleges wanting something a little more for their students than just activity centres and high ropes! A little more ‘bang for your buck’ and a new concept to UK residentials.
Our camps are perfect for students coming together and getting to know each other at the beginning of the year or just celebrating the end of term. It's also a really amazing opportunity for students and teachers to bond outside of the classroom, and for students to see that their teachers aren't just teachers, they're actually pretty cool people.….most of the time ;)
Think coasteering and coastal walks; surfing and sustainability workshops, bug farm tours, beach plastic surveys and species ID sessions. And, the beauty is we can accommodate entire year groups of up to 240 students in one go.
Flooglebinder Camps encompass everything we’re about and couldn’t be a better example of our four core pillars: conservation, sustainability, personal development and mental health!
We’ve been running residential camps in Pembrokeshire for years, so this isn't our first rodeo! Due to popularity and space limitations, we've now launched a new programme in the Isle of Wight.
Welcome to Flooglebinder Camps, keep scrolling to find out why we do things differently!
Two epic locations, one shared mission..
The Isle of Wight.
Adventure across the Solent to explore one of the most incredible coastlines the UK has to offer.
Enjoy awesome activities such as coasteering, sailing, fossil hunting, coastal walks, a dinosaur museum and a workshop with The Garlic Farm. This trip focuses on conservation and sustainability and our activities will introduce students to the important role that ecology plays within our global system. You’ll sleep under the stars in our bell tents and enjoy incredible food. Expect a full immersion in nature and a jam-packed few days that won’t be forgotten!
Pembrokeshire.
This private cliff-side location offers the options of bunks or bell tents and can accommodate up to 240 pax! That’s an entire cohort! Perfect for Spring, Summer or Autumn residentials. Explore hidden bays, enjoy a boat safari, visit a bug farm (tasting insects is optional!) and learn about the role of invertebrates in future sustainable development.
Take part in conservation activities throughout your trip including beach cleans and plastic collections and learn from the best minds in conservation and marine biology. Enjoy morning yoga, delicious, locally sourced food and evening campfires.
Teachers...why choose us?
We're a B Corp & Travelife Partner: travelling with us helps make a difference. Choosing a responsible travel provider and choosing to educate your students in adopting sustainable habits is leading by example. Choosing Flooglebinder will contribute positively towards a range of social and environmental issues and help with your wider school sustainability strategy.
Use us as an example: let’s teach your students about using business as a force for good. People and the planet come first (always before profit) and we need more green advocates!
We are collaborative: we integrate into your learning objectives, but we develop this with our ideas to create the perfect experience.
It’s a chance to breathe: you will be blown away by our locations. Spend every day of your trip immersed in nature. You can take a little breather, have a brew and enjoy your little welcome hamper of goodies in your tent.
We lead: we have our own awesome and very experienced project leaders who we look after and are part of the Floogle Fam. We're a Living Wage Employer and pay higher wages than anyone else in the sector. Our staff are expertly trained to take the lead, so you can relax knowing you're all in good hands.
Refine your own teaching practices: we lead, so that you observe, relax and chill out but who knows, we might teach you something new!
Entire year groups: we can accommodate the whole year group! Exclusively your camp with no other schools on-site if requested.
AQA Unit Award Scheme: we're the first travel company to offer the AQA Unit Award Scheme certificates to help recognise students’ achievements whilst on residentials. Just opt-in when you book.
Alignment with UN’s SDG's: we believe that all students should develop an understanding of how the world works and be aware of all complex interplays between the various social, economic, and environmental factors contributing to global challenges.
A chance to experience real togetherness: building bonds with students outside of the classroom.
And what will students get out of our Camps?
Original itineraries: think bug farms, insect cafes, surfing, coasteering, yoga and much, much more!
Improve their confidence: build resilience, make memories, and encourage new friendships. Bond with peers!
They will actually enjoy the food: We offer locally sourced, incredible food, prepared on-site.
Absolutely no sign of a boring activity centre: there are changes of location throughout the day - they will be busy!
Inclusive: we are affordable and accessible and make it as easy as possible for all students to join with extended payment plans if required.
They will be strongly encouraged to disconnect from their devices and connect with nature: a digital detox. Mindful moments are actually a thing in our Camps!
Student well-being is at the heart of everything we do: mental health matters to us and we have some tricks up our sleeve to encourage students to share, care and relax.
Sleep in bell tents with a small group of friends: the novelty of camping by the sea!
Students learn: about sustainability and conservation and they love it!
Opportunity to gain certificates and recognition: great for personal development.
Our Project Leaders: are personable, caring and a whole lot of fun!
