We first went to Sri Lanka back in 2014 and man what an awesome place - from mangroves to beaches, mountainside tea plantations and thick lowland tropical rainforests, it was certainly one of, if not the, most diverse place we’d ever been to.

After an awesome breakfast (pancakes and fruit) we made our way (2hrs) to the Amazon river. The boat journey to the research centre is pretty quick and 45minutes of absolute bliss, just river, wildlife and deep deep jungle.

This place lives up to the hype, drenched in culture, a lot of it painful but there's so much hope, beauty and human endurance, it's truly inspiring.
